Syracuse football is in fact bad, but Paulus was wooed by all kinds of other schools to play football before deciding to go to Duke to play basketball. Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Miami, FSU and several other big name football schools wanted Paulus out of HS. Michigan was gonna give him the chance to compete for the starting job this fall, and even Green Bay offered him an opportunity to try out IF he wanted to jump straight to the NFL.Originally Posted by VHSLhelper
I'm not saying he's gonna be the best QB in the Big East, or he's gonna do big things at Syracuse--but I don't think he's gonna suck.
He could have stayed at Duke and played football, but Cutcliffe wouldn't give him a chance at the QB job--and I don't blame him with Thaddeus Lewis already entrenched at the position.
Interesting story line to follow throughout the season though, that's for sure.
